Consignment Sales

A great way to earn money for the animals at Second Chance is by selling some of the things that you no longer want, wear or use, but that someone else may enjoy having. And the Dorset Exchange Consignment Gallery and Second Hand Rose in Bennington make it easy to do just that.

Ladies, men’s and children’s clothing, shoes, pocketbooks, serving pieces, decorative and/or small household items, glassware, jewelry, comforters, vases and many other items can all be turned into cash to help the animals. The Dorset Exchange also takes in artwork, collectibles and larger items such as end tables, loveseats, bakers’ racks, bookcases, etc. Clothing must be current-season and freshly laundered or dry-cleaned.

If you have a question as to whether a particular item will be accepted, it is wise to call first. And when you bring your items in to be sold, just be sure to specify that Second Chance Animal Center is to receive the proceeds from any sale that is made.

The Dorset Exchange is located at 3283 Rte 30 in Dorset (next to the post office). Their phone number is (802) 231-2520, and their web site is www.thedorsetexchange.com. The shop is open from 10 AM to 5 PM six days a week (closed on Tuesdays). Please limit items to 10-15 at a time and call in advance to make arrangements for furniture to be brought in.

Second Hand Rose is located at 303 Depot Street in Bennington. Their phone number is (802) 447-1563. The shop is open seven days a week from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday and until 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Items for sale are limited to five a week and are accepted every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays.
