Memorial/Honorary Donations and Planned Giving

As with most charitable organizations, Second Chance Animal Center relies upon you, the individual donor, to ensure the important work we do continues. Your annual contributions are needed in order for Second Chance to meet our annual expenses, allowing us to provide valuable services.

Another way you can help is by considering Second Chance Animal Center when creating your estate plan. Whether it's sheltering for estate, gift or income taxes, a charitable planned gift to Second Chance can be an integral part of your estate planning strategy. Estate planning is an important element of your financial future and establishing a trust or adopting a gifting plan during your lifetime is a great way of reducing taxes. A bequest to Second Chance Animal Center in your will or trust could provide a considerable charitable deduction against your taxable estate.

You can also make gifts of appreciated stock directly to Second Chance Animal Center, and as a result receive a tax deduction without incurring capital gains tax. Or, use appreciated stock to fund a Charitable Remainder Trust, receive a charitable deduction, shelter against capital gains tax and in addition receive an income stream from the contribution over your lifetime.

There are so many ways you can help Second Chance fulfill our mission and also enhance your financial future. Please call Second Chance Executive Director, Cathi Comar at (802) 375-2898 x307 to see how you can help.
