We're easy to find! We're located on Vermont Rte. 7A, on the Arlington/ Shaftsbury
town line, just north of Lake Shaftsbury State Park. Look for the low white building
with our sign in front. We are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00-
Driving Directions to Second Chance Animal Center and Map:
From the Albany, NY area:
Go north to Troy, and then take NY Rte. 7 east to Bennington, VT. (In Vermont, this
road becomes VT Rte. 9.) In Bennington, take VT Rte. 7 north to exit 2. At the end
of the ramp, turn right and drive north through the town of Shaftsbury. SCAC is 7.5
miles north, on the left-
From the Brattleboro, VT area:
Take VT Rte. 9 west to Bennington. In the center of town, turn right onto Rte. 7
and continue north through town. Take exit 2, turning right at the end of the ramp
and driving north through Shaftsbury. The Center is 7.5 miles north, on the left-
From the Rutland, VT area:
Take Rte. 7 south. Just north of Manchester, the road divides. Bear right onto Rte.
7A south and continue south through the towns of Manchester, Manchester Village and
Arlington. The Center is 5 miles south of Arlington on the right-
From the Pittsfield, MA area:
Take Rte. 7 north into Bennington, VT, and continue to exit 2. At the end of the
exit ramp turn right and continue north through Shaftsbury. SCAC is located 7.5 miles
